Estates Officer
1 Bowlers Green, Radlett, WD7 9HQ
This position will be based at 1 Bowlers Green, Radlett, WD7 9HQ but will be supporting a portfolio of buildings across Hertfordshire – you will need to be able to drive you will have your own transport and travel expenses are paid. 3 days a week are required on site.
This is a Band 6 position - Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:00 or 09:00 – 17:00 (37.5 hours)

This role could suit someone who has a degree in an engineering discipline / building services related subject or equivalent technical qualification. Maybe you have completed an apprenticeship or placement year as part of your studies or are leaving the forces and are looking for a civilian role.
The successful candidate will support the Senior Operational Estates Manager:
- · Ensure all Estates engineering and building systems meet safety and regulatory standards, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including HTMs, HBNs, and H&S legislation.
- · Provide expert engineering and building advice to senior management, engineering, and clinical teams to support operational decisions.
- · Oversee and ensure the accuracy and proper population of the Trust’s Asset Information System and maintenance management systems, capturing all necessary statutory and mandatory information.
- · Evaluate and ensure compliance with NHS guidelines, legislative directives (including EU regulations), and health and safety notices related to patient, staff, and public safety.
- · Manage project information for statutory and mandatory reporting and oversee mechanical, electrical, and building systems' efficiency and cost-effectiveness, ensuring compliance through internal or external labour sources.
Experience & Knowledge
- Engineering degree or lots of experience in Hard FM, Minor Works (e.g replacing boilers)
- · Proven ability to plan over short, medium, and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
- · Computer literate: knowledge and experience of using Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and risk management software (Datix).
- Can provide examples of where they have developed similar transformation.
Qualifications
- · Qualified to Degree Level in Engineering / Building Services or HNC / HND Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with significant management experience.
- · Experience in operational maintenance in a Mechanical, Electrical or Building service discipline or equivalent significant experience.
- · Hold a current driving licence.
