Job Title: Temporary Medical Staffing Advisor
Location: Royal Berkshire Hospital, London Road, Reading RG1 5AN
Hours: 37,5 hours per week, Mon - Fri, 9:00 - 17:00
Pay: Band 5, £18.66 per hour
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Temporary Medical Staffing Advisor to join the team at Royal Berkshire Hospital. In this vital role, you will support the hospital’s medical staffing needs by coordinating and facilitating the recruitment and placement of temporary medical staff. Your contribution will ensure the continued delivery of high-quality patient care while maintaining cost efficiency.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Collaborate with department managers to identify temporary staffing requirements and provide expert advice.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for temporary medical staff, including screening and selection.
- Liaise with external staffing agencies to source and onboard suitable candidates in compliance with NHS policies.
- Maintain a database of qualified temporary medical staff and match them to appropriate opportunities.
- Coordinate staffing schedules and address changes or cancellations effectively.
- Support the Head of Medical Workforce to manage and negotiate agency rates, ensuring optimal cost management.
- Authorise payments via the Patchwork system and monitor staffing expenditures, making recommendations for savings.
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience liaising with external contacts and multiple stakeholders to deliver efficient services.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges.
- A team player with a solution-focused mindset and the ability to think laterally.
This role may require you to show evidence of education at degree level or at least 2 years relevant experience.
