The Role of a Care Assistant
Home Instead are looking for people with kind, compassionate hearts who want to make a true difference to the quality of life for our clients in Wakefield
We are seeking caring individuals who can support our clients and offer full time up to 37 hours per week plus overtime.
Care assistants support clients in the community to live and remain in their own home. Due to the nature of the role in the community you must be willing to travel around Wakefield and commit to working a combination of the following shift times 7am – 2.30pm and 3.45pm – 9.45pm including alternative weekends. We need our care care assistants to be available for two evenings per week as a minimum.
You will support clients with:
- Personal care tasks
- Medication
- Meal preparation
- Light housekeeping
- Shopping
- General companionship and wellbeing
- Taking clients to medical appointments
We provide you with:
- £12.00 to £13.00 an hour
- Paid travel time and mileage allowance
- Guaranteed hours contracts available.

Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in Wakefield, United Kingdom. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients' daily lives, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
You will support clients with:

Qualifications
- Compassionate and patient nature with a genuine desire to help others
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Physical stamina to assist clients with mobility and daily activities
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
- Previous experience in the care sector is desirable but not required, as full training will be provided
- Willingness to undertake relevant qualifications in health and social care
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Respect for client privacy and confidentiality
