Starfish & Coffee is a multi-award winning cafe based by beautiful Queens Park in Brighton and we're looking for a new Weekend Head Barista to join our team.
We've built our reputation on great service, coffee & brunch and we're after someone with the same level of high standards that we have.
Experience in a similar type of establishment is an absolute must. We're a busy cafe, so you'll need to be quick on your feet with lots of initiative.
Our dream Weekend Head Barista would love working with speciality coffee and know the local coffee scene well, constantly produce latte art even during our busiest periods, and understand dialling-in, working with batch brewing and getting the best out of your machine - Please do not apply if this doesn't sound like you!
Responsibilities will also include some table service (in particular when the front of house manager has days off), taking orders, payment and general customer liaison, however the main bulk of the job will be on the coffee machine.
In return you'll work in a fun environment with a great team. Most of our customers are regulars, so you'll get to be part of our brilliant local community. You'll get fed while on duty, and beers after busy weekend shifts.
You'll be working Saturdays & Sundays 8.30am-4pm.
We will also have some extra shifts available around the Christmas/New Year period (although we will be closed on 24th-26th December & 1st Jan).
Hourly rate: £12-12.50ph.
All staff receive an equal share of tips, which usually adds around £2.50-£3ph to your hourly rate. Plus the standard holiday pay & pension scheme option.
