Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to support the kitchen in delivering high-quality meals. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting with meal preparation, and maintaining food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Support with the cooking process by following instructions and recipes accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Help with catering events by preparing meals as per the menu requirements.
- Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and reporting shortages.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is crucial.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to assist with various tasks as needed in the kitchen setting.
- A genuine interest in culinary arts and meal preparation.
- Must be able to work Weekends Friday - Sunday
