To provide a high quality domestic service throughout the designated area/service, maintaining a clean and safe environment that assists in ensuring a positive service user experience and reflects the values of the organisation.
At SSL, we work in partnership with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT), to deliver facilities management, transport and other support services to over 50 sites across the West Midlands.
Our team keeps expanding and since our establishment, in 2012, we have grown rapidly though the acquisition of new sites and services.
At SSL we take pride in our focus to support and contribute to the Trust’s aim which is to help people get better and challenge the stigma associated with mental illness.

GENERAL.
To be responsible for the effective cleaning and maintenance of all hygiene standards within a designated area/service and all of its facilities.
To be responsible for utilising safely mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment following appropriate training as required to meet the above.
To be responsible for the collection and safe removal of paper waste within your area/service of work.
To provide pantry/kitchen duties including clearing of the dining area and washing up as required.
To provide specialist cleaning (barrier/isolation) as required.
Responsible for the safe storage and maintenance of appropriate stock and supplies and to ensure that these are available within the designated area/service.
It is everyone’s responsibility to be aware of infection control procedures and to carry out relevant training.
INDIVIDUAL.
Responsible for engaging in the SSL/Trust appraisal process, that identifies your own personal development and training needs.
Responsible for ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times in accordance with the data protection act trust policy and good practice.
Responsible for maintaining and conducting oneself in a professional manner towards colleagues and other agencies.
To assist in the introduction of new staff under the guidance and advice of the Domestic Supervisor.
Responsible for reading, understanding and complying with all relevant departmental/trust and statutory policies and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring that they contribute and work towards the service/organisational aims and objectives.
To undertake any adhoc duties as required by the Domestic Supervisor commensurate with the grade of the post i.e. changing of cubicle/window curtain blinds.
Every member of staff has a responsibility to be aware of and follow at all times, the relevant national and local policy in relation to the safeguarding of children, the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and the control of infection.
It is the responsibility of each member of staff when reporting for duty and collecting their staff attack alarm to test the alarm on the ward area to ensure it is working correctly.
