A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a friendly welcoming team at Hamilton Court as a Support Worker. We have several positions available, both permanent and temporary, at differing hours. Hamilton Court is a registered service in the village of Conisbrough which provides supports for adults who have a learning disability and or associated physical disabilities. The properties comprise of 3 houses of multiple occupancy and four individual flats. In total there are 16 individuals who we support.
Within this role you will support individual’s with their daily living needs including personal, nutritional, social and emotional, and facilitate stimulation and promote independence in line with their individual support plans. You will also support individuals with accessing new activities/opportunities, work and leisure interests. You will review person centred support plans and risk assessments. You will have an up to date knowledge of individuals support by reading support plans and the service’s communications systems and attending staff handovers daily.
We are looking for a calm, resourceful and energetic individual who is well motivated, hardworking and keen to join our friendly team. You will provide and promote person-centred care and support to individual’s within our service. You will have skills in positive communication and engagement and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support. You must be able to follow agreed guidelines and to work positively within a consistent, mutually supportive team.
All duties will be undertaken with due regard to the dignity and choice of the individuals, ensuring that all personal care and discussions pertaining to individuals are done so privately. As required you will also assist in domestic duties including basic cleaning schedules, the individual’s laundry, ironing, and other household tasks.
As a Support Worker of Hamilton Court, you will have the responsibility to provide the delivery of, a high quality service as required by the Care Quality Commission and Doncaster’s contractual standards. This will include supporting with the day-to-day patterns of care and support in the service, in a way which is based on the principles of good quality care. This will reflect control, cleanliness, comfort, safety, participation, involvement, privacy, dignity and choice. The supported living service will be provided in accordance with the statements of purpose.
You will need the ability to write clear, factual and accurate reports for individuals care and support. Also reports in relation to any accidents, incidents, safeguarding’s, along with ensuring that any area of concern is reported immediately to the senior on duty and Registered Manager.
A good knowledge and understanding of enabling services, Learning Disabilities, Safeguarding Adults, Health and Safety, Data protection and the core principles of CQC is essential within this role.
It is all employees’ responsibility for individual Health and Safety in the work place and to be aware of other staff, service users and visitors to the unit’s health and well-being by adhering to the unit’s health and safety procedures.
These posts are based at Hamilton Court but you may be required to work at other services sometimes at short notice. The posts are all working a rota pattern which covers 7 days a week and includes evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, as the service is open 365 days a year. The days and afters shifts are working are between the hours of 07:00 hours and 22:00 hours. A four week master rota pattern is provided, adjustments made with four weeks advanced notice, to cover the service requirements at that time.
