Job Description
Care assistants support clients in the community to live and remain in their own home. Due to the nature of the role in the community you must be willing to travel around Rotherham and commit to working a combination of the following shift times 7am – 2.30pm and 3.45pm – 9.45pm including alternative weekends and bank holidays. We require applicants have a valid driving licence, access to a car and willing to add business insurance to their insurance policy.
As a Care Assistant in Rotherham, United Kingdom, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and meal preparation
- Provide emotional support whilst monitoring clients' health and well-being, reporting concerns to healthcare professionals
- Administer medication as directed and maintain accurate records of care provided
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure consistent, high-quality care and a safe living environment
- Respect clients' dignity, privacy, and individual preferences at all times
- Accompany clients to appointments or social activities when required
- Participate in regular training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Qualifications
- Passion for supporting others and delivering outstanding care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build professional relationships
- Reliability, trustworthiness, and respect for confidentiality
- Physical stamina to assist with mobility and personal care tasks
- Patience, empathy, and understanding towards clients' needs
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate record-keeping
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and health screenings
- Previous experience in a care setting is desirable, but not essential
