Healthcare Assistant - Erewash Care Team
We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our unique and specialised end of life care team. You will be joining a large and established team of Healthcare Assistants who are led by a District Nurse. This team is part of a larger Integrated Community Team which includes Community Nursing and Community Therapy.
The shifts are allocated as early and late shifts which are five hours in duration. Early shifts are from 08:00 - 13:00 and late shifts are from 16:00 - 21:00. The team allocate these as per your working hours over a 7 day period with 1 in 3 weekends. The expected staffing allocation is 4 staff per shift which means that you will work closely with your colleagues to do joint visits alongside lone working for singular visits in the Community.
We deliver end of life care to patients within their own homes within the Erewash locality. Therefore, you will be required to drive between visits and our two bases which are Ilkeston Community Hospital and Long Eaton Health Centre.
We are looking for a caring and compassionate person who has a passion for delivering high quality end of life care. Experience within the healthcare setting is of importance to ensure that you are equiped with the skills required for this job.
Healthcare Assistant - Erewash Care Team
The main duties of the job will include the following:
- Personal care for end of life patients residing at home.
- Patient manual handling, using equipment provided within the home.
- Continence management, including catheter care.
- Pressure area care.
- Medication administration following a Medication Administration Record (MAR) sheet.
- Communication to all staff within the Integrated Community Team alongside use of a laptop to write patient records within Systmone.
