YMCA Barry are looking for a motivated and passionate women’s artistic coach to lead an already thriving women’s artistic squad. The role will require co-ordinating and leading on all aspects of the women’s artistic squad and working to further develop the section in quality and performance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Delivery & Planning of Gymnastics Programme
· Deliver women’s artistic gymnastics in line with Welsh and British Gymnastics coaching guidelines
· Plan gymnast focused sessions that consider the individual gymnasts involved
· Help assistant coaches’ plan their gymnastics sessions if required
· Ensure the professional standards of the women’s artistic squad are always maintained
· Provide leadership to the assistant coaches and ensure that gymnastics quality is maintained throughout the squad
· Ensure that the squad are engaging with competition preparation in an adequate amount of time and all gymnasts are ‘competition ready’
· An emphasis on producing beautiful gymnastics is always maintained
· Gymnastics programmes to be gymnast centred with the gymnast’s safety and well-being being the priority
· Assisting with other gymnastic sections as an assistant senior coach
2. Health and Safety & Safeguarding
· Comply with YMCA Barry and British / Welsh Gymnastics policies, including safeguarding and protecting children
· Ensuring that the safety and well-being of the gymnasts is kept as a priority
· Report any safeguarding concerns to the welfare officers
· Completing daily health and safety checks and report any damages or concerns
· Follow the correct procedures for reporting accidents and incident
· Administer appropriate first aid (if qualified).
· Awareness of YMCA Barry Health and safety policy and emergency procedures
· Report if first aid supplies are running low in the gymnasium
3. Administration & General
· Oversee all administration for the women’s artistic programme
· Complete registers at the start of every session
· Complete competition entries and the associated administration
· Communicate with parents when required and complete progress meetings
· Represent YMCA Barry at external competitions and Welsh squad sessions or arrange for a suitable member of staff to attend
· Attend work related training as directed by YMCA Barry
· Provide additional support to management where necessary
· Undertaking other tasks that may be required from time to time to ensure the efficient operation of the facility
4. GDPR and Data Protection
· Maintaining the integrity of all personal data and maintain confidentiality of personal data
· Report any data breaches to the Gymnastics Manager
5. Relationship Building and Communication
· Lead and motivate all gymnastics staff and volunteers within the women’s artistic squad
· Act as a mentor to assistant coaches and volunteers
· Ensure assistant coaches in the women’s artistic squad are kept informed and progress reviews of coaching groups are completed
· Ensure customer care standards are maintained
· Provide advice and assistance to customers using the facilities
· Attend staff meetings and report on the progress of the women’s artistic squad
· Share any ideas of potential club improvements
· Work to resolve any customer complaints or issues
· Liaise with Finance and Operations Manager and Centre Assistant in the coordination of sections
6. General
· Undertake any other roles and responsibilities appropriate to the post
· Complete qualifications and CPD training that are deemed developmental for the role
· Attend club events that do not necessarily fall under the remit of women’s artistic section
· Assist and attend fundraising activities
· Contribute to the club’s social media
· Always act with integrity and treat everyone with fairness, respect and professionalism

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.94-£14.29 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 37.5 per week
