Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Backshift Driver Operator to join our team.
This role requires knowledge of the local area in Plymouth to be able to follow routes.
The ideal candidate will need to possess a Full UK driving licence, ADR qualified class 6 minimum, knowledge to implement procedures to control and prevent site environmental failures on or off site, Reasonable keyboard and computer skills, excellent communication skills, Team work, Customer Focus, Commercial awareness, Culture & ethics, manual handling, and have experience of the control of waste transfer operations, covering the acceptance, storage and transfer of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
Job Role
Collection of customer’s waste/materials/general transport duties with the limits of individuals training and competence.
Responsible for ensuring full compliance with all legislation regarding the incinerator operations (on and off-site locations).
Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of yourself, other employees, agency workers, contractors, customers, and visitors entering this site and other locations.
Responsible for all environmental compliance for on- and off-site operations.
Ensuring waste is accepted onto the site in accordance with the Company’s Environmental Management System’s Permit procedures.
Ensuring all data recording is done correctly, (electronically or manually). Input load data details onto the weighbridge system as and when required.
Responsible for completing all the daily vehicle check’s before leaving site and reporting any issues/defects using the correct procedures (defect logbooks). Vehicles are suitably always fuelled.
Responsible for the cleanliness and condition of trust vehicles and equipment always.
Loads are securely fixed and compliant with Road Traffic Regulations including ADR requirements if qualified.
To be able to represent the company in a professional and cost-effective manner to provide customer satisfaction.
Flexibility to work within the plant or yard when driving duties are complete or not required to fulfil your contracted hours.
