The role of a Residential care officer is to provide high quality care and support to meet the needs of children and young people in a residential setting. Working as part of an experienced care team having a personal and active involvement in all aspects of the care of children and young people, seeking to meet their emotional, social and physical needs and promoting and maintaining an enabling atmosphere in which children and young people can prosper and achieve in accord with the statements of purpose for the home, and within the parameters of Childrens Home Regulations, policy and procedures.
