Job responsibilities Job description & Person Specification Job Title -Patient Coordinator - Responsible to the Practice Manager.
Main purpose of this post: To ensure confidentiality are observed at all times. To ensure practice policies & Procedures are carried out. To provide Patients with a regular efficient service. Main responsibility areas of the post Reception duties Management of appointments systems Scanning & Photocopies Operation of the telephone system. Start and end of day procedures. Other administrative duties. Reception Duties Greet and direct patients, visitors as they attend the surgery. Be courteous and polite at all times when dealing with patients either by telephone or face to face. Ensure all information taken and given is accurate and correct. Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover, ensure procedures are completed. Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and visitors. Ensure reception, waiting room and working stations are kept neat and tidy. Book appointments for long term conditions as per recalls with the appropriate clinicians. Scanning and emailing. Contacting patients either by telephone or letter for any follow up's clinicians may request. Arrange ambulance transport logging all information onto the system. Updating patient demographics keeping all details accurate. Start & End of day procedures Opening up the premises on a morning set the alarm to day function and make necessary preparations to receive patients. Requirements for the post: Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Customer service skills Post holder to make sure all mandatory training to be kept up to date inline with practice requirements. To be polite and courteous at all times to patients, visitors and colleagues. Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness, and local knowledge to respond to patient queries. To adhere to strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £11.44 per hour
