Overview
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance. Your compassionate approach will help promote independence and dignity among those you support. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to providing high-quality care and support to clients with varying needs, including those with dementia.
Duties
- Provide personal care and support to clients, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
- Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
- Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Support clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance.
- Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation to promote mental well-being.
- Implement behaviour management strategies for clients exhibiting challenging behaviours.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to the nursing team.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
Skills
- Full driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
