We, Coromandel Coast, are a roastery and speciality coffee house collective serving award-winning, climate-smart coffee.
Our coffeehouses, named FILTR by Coromandel Coast, are in Sanderstead, Chipstead, Addiscombe, Caterham-on-the-Hill, West Wickham and recently Purley.
Our stores are vital to the local community and have grown remarkably since the start.
We're looking for a barista cum all-rounder to strengthen our already competent and conscientious team at our recently opened store at West Wickham, as well as for our much loved established store in Addiscombe.
The role involves the following responsibilities:
- Greet Customers: Be the friendly face that welcomes guests as they step through our doors.
- Menu Expertise: Provide customers with drink menus and answer any questions about origin and taste profile
- Order Taking: Pay attention to details when taking orders (such as allergens and milk preferences).
- Brewing Magic: Prepare hot and cold beverages, including coffee-based, tea and iced drinks to a high standard.
- Prep and plate food: Prepare toasties and plate them according to brand standards.
- Upsell: Recommend special items and elevate the customer experience.
- Cash Handling: Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards).
- Cleanliness: Keep the bar area spotless and maintain stock of clean mugs and plates.
- Equipment Check: Ensure brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs.
- Safety First: Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Documentation: update logbooks and company records around food safety and hygiene.

Qualifications
- Barista experience
- Serving experience
- Food safety certification
- Proficiency in food preparation
- Basic math skills
- Strong time management abilities
- Experience in cash handling
