This post is based at Tilehurst Clinic in Reading though we do occasionally need you to work at other sites or attend meetings within the locality – both East and West Berkshire
We are looking for someone with experience and motivation and a desire to be part of a small but enthusiastic team. You will work alongside the ASLT admin team based within Tilehurst.
An interest in ASLT is essential and some understanding of our work is needed to be demonstrated at interview .
You should have relevant NHS management/admin experience and a knowledge of RIO is an advantage. You must have up to date IT skills and be confident in dealing with people on the telephone.
It is essential that you have full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. You will need to be fully competent and confident in using computer programmes to prepare communication aids such as books or boards. After initial training you will be required to undertake tasks independently so need to be able to manage your t ime efficiently .
Supporting the ASLT team on a day to day basis
Dealing with telephone calls and enquiries
Booking appointments
Using RIO patient held records
Producing communication booklets and other SLT materials for clients
Updating all patient related leaflets/handouts
Actively participate in team meetings
Work flexibly in response to service need across multiple sites

A strong interest in SLT
Good administration skills
Flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills
Experience of working independently and reporting back to supervisors
Advanced written, verbal and digital communication skills
Car driver/owner and able to use car for work
