JOB OVERVIEW
Leeds International Study Centre offers a range of programs in collaboration with the prestigious University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University.
In your role, you will collaborate with fellow colleagues within the Centre to ensure the successful execution of educational programs that align with our educational strategy, promote scholarly pursuits, and strive for an exceptional student experience. Additionally, you will actively participate in providing support to students and play a key role in shaping and implementing innovative teaching methods within the Centre.
As an AES Tutor, your responsibilities will encompass contributing to the creation, enhancement, and delivery of educational materials and content across various modules or within Academic English.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Participating in regular meetings with teaching and support staff contributes to the effective overall management of the programme and student life cycle.

Contribute to the delivery and assessment of English provision, with a normal teaching load of 15-20 hours per week

Formative and summative assessment marking and providing feedback to students

Use a wide range of learning technologies that support the successful delivery of a Blended Learning model

Work with the Centre’s Student Experience team in the delivery of induction, orientation and registration programmes.

Enhance student outcome opportunities via teaching and learning

Engage in scholarly activity to ensure the delivery of modules is current

Develop and promote student activities to promote student engagement and enhance the student experience.

Confidently and consistently use centre systems to log and monitor student attendance

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and performance

Complete sponsor reports and academic reports for students.

Any other duties as required from time to time by the Head of Centre and/or the Head of English.

Promote health, safety and wellbeing of students and colleagues. Hold personal accountability to avoid action that could threaten the health or safety of you, other employees, students or members of the public.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject area. Candidates with further qualifications in the subject area will be welcome and a Master’s qualification is normally essential for teaching on any of the pre-masters programmes. Candidates holding a PhD will be particularly welcomed.

Experience of teaching in the UK higher or further education and preferably a teaching qualification and experience of working with international students

Ability to develop and update teaching material and preferably experience of working within a Virtual Learning Environment

Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, etc.)

Ability to teach both face-to-face and remotely (via Zoom)

Understanding of key features of Blended Learning
