Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, as well as the ability to manage time efficiently and communicate effectively with both customers and warehouse staff.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items, ensuring that all deliveries are handled with care and in accordance with safety regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies in orders.
- Assist in the warehouse when not on deliveries, which may include heavy lifting and organising stock.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- A valid driving licence is essential for this position.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations will be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during loading and unloading processes.
- A good understanding of road safety regulations and navigation skills is important for efficient route planning.
