Tropical Marine Centre is a leading wholesaler of marine animals, supplying the Aquatics trade with a wide variety of species. Our Manchester-based fish-holding facility is dedicated to the health and well-being of marine life, and we are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team.
We are seeking a passionate and responsible individual with an interest in marine aquatics to join our team as a Marine Fish Feeder. In this role, you will be directly responsible for ensuring the nutrition, care, and well-being of our marine animals. Your duties will primarily focus on feeding and monitoring the health of the fish, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and attention.
Key Responsibilities
- Feeding and Nutrition: Accurately feed marine fish according to species-specific dietary needs, following established feeding schedules and protocols.
- Health Monitoring: Regularly observe fish behaviour and health, reporting any concerns to the team.
- Tank Maintenance: Assist with maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the fish, ensuring tanks are monitored for cleanliness and water quality.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to ensure the smooth running of the facility and that all animals are well cared for.
- Learning and Development: Participate in on-the-job training to gain the necessary skills and knowledge for working with marine species.
About You
- Interest in Aquatics: A genuine interest in marine life, with some prior experience or knowledge in aquatics being an advantage.
- Strong Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of care for marine animals.
- Team Player: Ability to work well within a team, while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for noticing changes in fish behaviour or tank conditions.
