Trustee Board Member
(Also called Non-Executive Director. Voluntary, Not remunerated)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for people to join the Board of The Birtenshaw Group, a dynamic and growing organisation which provides care, education and therapy services for disabled children and young adults.
We are looking for additional Board members (Trustees/Non-executive Directors) to support us in our continued development of quality services for those with special educational needs and disability.
No previous experience is necessary, simply a commitment to helping us transform the lives of young people and an ability to work collaboratively with a group of other volunteers and the Chief Executive to agree the strategic vision for the company.
What is required?
The minimum commitment is around 12 to 15 hours per year.
Attendance at four Board meetings and four committee meetings per year. They are usually held as a video call on a Tuesday evening at 5 pm lasting around an hour and a half. Various documents are issued in advance of meeting which may take 30/40 minutes to read.
There is also a strategic planning day once per year in central Manchester, usually in mid-October.
