Our Operational Support Team is looking to employ a Corporate Apprentice (Level 2) based at Queen Alexandra House, CF10 4LY to contribute to our Service helping us to deliver business support to a diverse range of service areas including Parks, Sport, Harbour Authority & Leisure. Providing a high-quality service to internal customers and members of the public, and you will develop general office administration skills including: responding to enquiries from customers accurately, drafting letters, taking records of meetings, undertaking basic numerical tasks e.g. assisting with counting money and banking income, assisting with bookings, undertaking general ICT work using Microsoft Applications and other systems.
From time to time the post holder may be required to work from Wedal Road Offices.
Primarily you will be office, venue or facility based, but there may also be some opportunities for home working.

In this Corporate Apprentice (Level 2) role you will learn to:
Work as part of a team to deliver a first-class service. You will develop transferable workplace knowledge, skills and e.g. general office administration skills, using word and excel, answering telephones, using IT, helping customers with their enquiries and developing excellent customer service skills.
The service team will help and encourage you to develop in the role and you will be encouraged to take on a variety of duties. You will receive supervision and on the job training and will have a named mentor to support you to deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive, customer-focused manner. The Corporate Apprentice Scheme also provides opportunities to enhance your transferable skills, and to support your career progression you will also undertake and complete a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Digital Skills for Business in this role.
Initially you will be working Monday – Friday between 08:00am to 16:30pm but there will be scope to apply a flexible scheme of working as the apprenticeship develops.
Full training will be provided and our Team will help and encourage you to develop in the role and you will be encouraged to take on a variety of duties. You will receive supervision and on the job training and will have a named mentor to support you to deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive, customer-focused manner.
The Corporate Apprentice & Trainee Scheme also provides opportunities to enhance your transferable skills to help support your career progression.
Many of our teams have moved to online and homeworking working and you will be encouraged to develop the skills to support this. Where homeworking is required, you will be given the necessary equipment however, you will need to arrange your own internet connectivity (some support may be available to help with this).

This post is temporary for 21 months if worked full time, or longer if worked part time. Most roles are based on a 37 hour week although many roles can be worked on a part time basis and at least 16 hours per week for apprentice roles.
