About The Service
You will earn £23,152 a year working full time (37 hour a week), or £12 per hour pro rata, as we are a Voluntary Living Wage employer. The Living Wage is reviewed each year and Cardiff Council reserves the right to make changes to, or remove, the Living Wage Supplement.
Our Corporate Complaints Team is looking to employ a Corporate Trainee Corporate Complaints Support Assistant based at County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff, CF10 4UW, to contribute to our Service helping us to deliver advice and support to council officers seeking assistance with complaints and to also act proactively and intervene with service areas to ensure complaints targets are met.

About the job
In this Corporate Trainee role, you will learn about the you will learn about the valuable work of the Corporate Complaints Team and support the Complaints and Correspondence Manager in the high quality, timely management of both Corporate and Ombudsman-led complaints.
The post holder will be required to act as a first point of contact, providing advice and support to council officers seeking assistance with complaints and to also act proactively and intervene with service areas to ensure targets are met.
Successful candidates are likely to have good administrative skills and an appreciation of the benefits of IT to help manage tasks and timescales, and in extracting data to help identify trends. As this is a customer-focused environment, the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues is essential. To support your development, you will receive on the job training and supervision to help you deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive and customer focused manner. You will also be supported by a named mentor who will encourage you to develop a range of transferrable skills to support your career progression.
Many of our teams work online with a mix of home or hybrid (office) working. Where homeworking is required, you will be given the necessary equipment and training, however, you will need to arrange your own internet connectivity (support may be available to help with this).
