ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Product & Marketing Director - Ostomy, you will be directly responsible for helping us develop a leading clinical voice within Ostomy and Wound drainage internationally. You will be a senior and integral member of a wider commercial team who are all joined by the common ambition to ensure having a stoma becomes ‘a small part of a bigger life’ for a growing number of people, across the world.
Contributing directly to an evidence-based approach to developing and promoting our products and services. This role provides clinical expertise that will inform a wide range of commercial decisions and provide advice and support to ensure the consistent delivery of a high quality, client focussed service across our international markets that include North America, France, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, Japan, UK and Ireland.
Importantly, the Clinical Advisor will network with Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses internationally. This will include building and delivering educational sessions, leading nurse engagement programmes, attending conferences and nurturing relationships with key opinion leaders in order to build Eakin Healthcare’s reputation in key markets. Carrying out clinical research, collating and presenting findings is also integral to this goal.
KEY ACTIVITIES
Strategy participation
- Provide a clinical voice and opinion to the overall discussion and execution of the Commercial team strategic plan, with specific responsibility for the creation and execution of the Clinical Objectives.
- Provide clinical input during development of marketing strategy.
- Network with Stoma nurses and related HCPs across our major markets, building meaningful relationships with key nurses and helping to build the clinical reputation and awareness of Eakin Healthcare.
New Product Development
- Work closely with the Insights and R+D teams to ensure all newly created products meet the consumer and nurse needs both within and outside a clinical setting.
Product Insights and Marketing
- Key member of CORE panel, delivering twice yearly sessions to our international nurse panel that helps us evolve and validate key concepts in stoma care and related products.
- Working closely with the Marketing department to ensure that all material (printed and on-line) is clinically accurate and up-to-date making sure it is easily understood by both consumers and HCPs.
- Lead a programme of nurse engagement, through specific activities and programmes that are owned by this role and others which are supported by the Clinical Advisor.
Training and Education
- Create and deliver training and education sessions in collaboration with Marketing to deliver presentations to all key stakeholders – business partners, health care professionals and associates.
- Deliver presentations through various mediums including webinar, conference presentations to large or small groups, road shows and recorded demonstrations. The content should support the use of the product and or service and should be clinically referenced.
- Provide regular training for all members within the Commercial team in relation to anatomy and physiology and surgical or product usage trends. Also educating in the use of all Eakin Healthcare’s Ostomy products with a high level of understanding of comparable products in the marketplace.
- Deliver bespoke training for all new members of office staff (beyond Commercial) depending on role.
Research
- Research and develop clinical reasoning for products or services created by Eakin Ostomy.
- Develop articles for publication and promotion detailing the evidence found in the research, helping to deliver these messages to the market.
- Where appropriate deliver research at national or international conferences.

KEY SKILLS
Essential
- A Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years nursing experience.
- A qualification in stoma care and experience of at least 3 years specifically within Ostomy care.
- Fluent English speaker.
- A willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Experience of Microsoft Office with good Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Commercial experience.
- Ability to speak one or more foreign languages.
- Full clean driving licence.
