To work between two BDCFT Hospitals (Lynfield Mount & Airedale Centre for Mental Health.

To communicate with patients /service users, clinical leads, regarding meal choices, complete menu collation forms for submission to the main production kitchen for meal preparation.
To serve meals on the ward at breakfast, lunch and dinner in line with Improving the Patient Experience (ItPE) protocols, including maintaining the quality of food from preparation to service. To ensure a clean environment during meal service provision.
To ensure hot and cold beverages are constantly available to patients/service users.
To work together and communicate with clinical staff and departmental leads on all relevant housekeeping matters including patient dietary needs, environmental issues, new admissions, and discharges.
To work together and communicate with line manager on all relevant work-related matters.
To work together with Food Service colleagues to provide an effective and efficient meal service provision to patients
To maintain appropriate levels of food stocks in the ward kitchen and ensure the correct rotation of all products completing necessary paperwork in line with guidance e.g Food service quality forms, waste collation sheets, question of the day forms.
To safely store food and supplies orders upon delivery.
To maintain standards in line with National Specifications for Cleanliness in the NHS.
To provide general cleaning within all in–patient areas with inclusion of wards, communal areas, offices, departments, non-clinical areas.
To follow National Colour Coding in line with infection prevention and control guidance.
To ensure safe use and storage of materials to meet health and safety regulations and adhere to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
To ensure safe use and storage of cleaning equipment e.g. vacuum cleaners, water extraction machines.
To adhere to safe working practices as outlined in Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) procedures.
To assist with the removal of bodily fluids and clean-up process as and when required in accordance with Infection Prevention guidelines
